What you'll do

  • Lead all software engineering teams responsible for Assembly's products and internal platforms
  • Build and mentor engineering managers and senior technical leaders
  • Create a culture focused on accountability, execution, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Recruit, retain, and develop top engineering talent
  • Manage both domestic and offshore engineering organizations
  • Own successful delivery of: AI-enabled products and automation initiatives, ARC platform, Revenue Cycle technology platforms, HL7 and interoperability solutions, Customer-facing applications, Internal operational systems, Analytics platforms, API development
  • Establish best practices and drive engineering velocity while maintaining platform stability

  • Partner with the CTO to execute the technology roadmap including: Cloud modernization, AI platform integration, Automation initiatives, Platform scalability, Security improvements, Technical debt reduction
  • Partner closely with the following departments to translate business priorities into engineering execution: Product Management, Operations, Client Success, Revenue Cycle Operations, Data & Analytics, Infrastructure, Information Security
  • Develop engineering metrics and create executive dashboards including: Sprint velocity, Release cadence, Defect rates, Platform uptime, Engineering productivity, Team capacity, Customer issue resolution, Delivery predictability
  • Lead technical relationships with: Strategic technology vendors, AI partners, Offshore development partners, Integration partners, Cloud providers

What they require

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 15+ years of software engineering experience
  • 8+ years leading engineering organizations
  • Experience building AI-enabled products
  • Proven success building SaaS platforms
  • Experience leading Agile engineering organizations
  • Experience managing distributed engineering teams
  • Strong cloud architecture knowledge (Azure preferred)
  • Experience with enterprise integrations and APIs
  • Excellent executive communication skills
  • Healthcare technology experience
  • Revenue Cycle Management experience
  • AI/ML product development experience
  • HL7/FHIR integration experience
  • Microsoft technology stack experience
  • Experience leading organizations through rapid growth
  • Experience integrating acquired technologies
