We are looking for a Brazil-based Director of Risk, Capital, Prudential Disclosure & Cybersecurity to lead these governance functions for our regulated business in Brazil.
The Director will hold formal accountability before the Central Bank of Brazil (BCB) for risk management, capital management, prudential disclosures, cybersecurity policy and incident response. This is a senior governance role with direct access to the Board and close collaboration with the local CEO, AML/Compliance Director and Group control functions.
The role is focused on ownership, oversight and independent challenge rather than day-to-day execution. Operational work will be supported by Finance, Risk, Security, Product, Engineering and external specialists.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the statutory director responsible for risk management, capital management, prudential disclosures, cybersecurity policy and incident response under applicable BCB requirements.
- Establish and maintain the company’s risk-management framework, including risk appetite, risk limits, policies, risk register, KRIs, escalation thresholds and remediation processes.
- Oversee financial and non-financial risks, including operational, liquidity, market, credit, counterparty, technology, custody, third-party and cybersecurity risks.
- Assess material risks arising from new products, partners, outsourcing arrangements and changes to the operating model, and provide independent challenge where appropriate.
- Ensure the company maintains the required regulatory capital and an appropriate capital buffer, and oversee capital planning, capital adequacy, PR/RWA, liquidity, stress testing and contingency measures.
- Oversee the governance, accuracy and timely delivery of prudential reporting and disclosures, including applicable DLI, DRL and Pillar 3 processes, ensuring that calculations and submissions are reproducible and appropriately supported.
- Own and maintain the local cybersecurity policy, cybersecurity action plan and incident-response plan, with oversight of cloud infrastructure, custody providers, Fireblocks, access controls, private keys, resilience and critical third-party technology services.
- Ensure that material security and operational incidents are appropriately identified, escalated, investigated, documented, remediated and reported, and oversee business-continuity and disaster-recovery testing.
- Provide regular risk, capital and cybersecurity reporting to the Board and Group leadership, maintaining sufficient independence and authority to challenge business and technical decisions when required.
- Support BCB information requests, supervisory reviews and inspections, and coordinate with the CEO, AML/Compliance, Finance, Product, Engineering, Security, Legal, auditors and external advisers.
Requirements:
- Resident in Brazil and willing and eligible to accept appointment as a statutory director/administrator.
- Able to satisfy BCB fit-and-proper, reputation and technical-capacity requirements.
- Senior experience in a bank, payment institution, regulated fintech, crypto company or comparable regulated financial business.
- Strong risk, capital, prudential-regulation or regulatory-reporting experience, plus sufficient cybersecurity-governance and incident-response capability.
- Practical knowledge of Brazilian financial regulation and BCB expectations.
- Fluent Portuguese and working English. Fluent Russian is a strong advantage.
- Independent judgment and ability to challenge senior business and technical stakeholders.
