What you'll do

  • Champion Product Taste: Set a high benchmark for efficacy, creativity, usability, and fun in science learning experiences.
  • Translate Vision to Artifacts: Drive development of instructional artifacts (scopes, sequences, prototypes) reflecting learning science, standards-alignment, and culturally responsive pedagogy.
  • Drive Discovery: Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Creative Services to design with end users and refine solutions based on teacher and student feedback.
  • Create Learning Experiences: Coach and support team in creating content for learning resources and experiences.
  • Champion Formative Research: Establish frameworks for content creation and gather feedback to improve resources.
  • Leverage Learning Science: Create learning design briefs, logic models, and support post-release efficacy research.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing and Go-to-Market to ensure product narratives reflect learning philosophy.
  • Nurture Talent: Manage, coach, and inspire LXD team members and foster an inclusive culture.
  • Scale with Precision: Manage capacity planning, project budgets, external vendors, and optimize workflows including use of AI tools.

What they require

  • 8+ years in learning experience design or educational content development.
  • 3+ years leading or managing teams in an iterative, fast-paced product development environment.
  • 3+ years of K-12 classroom teaching experience (or equivalent applied experience).
  • Demonstrated experience using data, analytics, and codesign to guide product iterations and design decisions.
  • Proven track record of conceptualizing and launching highly engaging, interactive digital learning experiences.
  • Deep knowledge of national/state academic standards, the K-12 competitive landscape, and experience managing external vendors or large-scale content pipelines.
  • Leadership experience within an EdTech company or modern educational publishing house.
  • Experience designing specifically for digital platforms.
