What you'll do

  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and planning for Group and Individual Benefits.
  • Develop financial models supporting strategic initiatives, acquisitions, investments, and operational improvements.
  • Partner with executive leadership to evaluate business performance and identify profitability and efficiency opportunities.
  • Serve as primary finance partner to Benefits Operations, Sales Leadership, Account Management, and Executive Leadership.
  • Translate operational metrics (enrollment cycles, carrier relationships, commission structures) into financial performance indicators.
  • Lead monthly forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting; develop KPIs and dashboards (revenue by line, commission income, fee income, client retention, producer productivity, book growth, margin, operating expenses).
  • Collaborate with accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting and alignment between operational activity and financial results; support month-end and quarter-end close.
  • Evaluate profitability by client, producer, agency, product line, and carrier; analyze enrollment trends, commission yields, retention, staffing models, and operational efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and analytical excellence; collaborate across Finance, Operations, Sales, IT, and Executive Leadership.

What they require

  • FP&A with career experience in Group and Individual Health Benefits.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or financial leadership.
  • 5+ years managing high-performing finance teams.
  • Experience within an insurance brokerage, employee benefits, health insurance, or financial services organization strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition, commission accounting, accruals, deferred revenue, carrier settlements, and producer compensation.
  • Experience with ERP and financial systems and advanced analytics platforms.
