About the Role

OpenLoop's mission is to bring care anywhere by powering telehealth solutions at scale. The Pharmacy Operations & Supply Chain team owns the journey from the moment a provider writes a prescription to the moment medication reaches the patient's door — including demand forecasting, network capacity, and the supply continuity that keeps product, ingredients, and consumables flowing across a network of 20+ fulfillment partners.

The function has scaled faster than its operating model. There is no standardized planning cadence today — forecasts are assembled reactively, partners receive limited advance visibility, and much of the process knowledge lives in people's heads. Volume has roughly tripled, and we are building the function out, including splitting leadership into two directors.

As Director, Demand & Supply Planning, you own the planning engine of the function: the S&OP and demand-planning cadence, forecast accuracy, capacity and allocation, inventory optimization, and cost. You report to the VP, Pharmacy Operations & Supply Chain and partner with a peer Director who owns supply chain operations and execution. This is a build role — you're standing up the planning cadence that doesn't exist today and the discipline the rest of the function runs on.

What You'll Do

• Build and own the S&OP / demand-planning cadence. Define the authoritative demand inputs from Sales, Implementation, and Customer Success, how they're modeled, and the cadence on which partners, sites, and Procurement receive outputs. Own capacity and demand reviews and planning KPIs.
• Own forecast accuracy as an outcome, not an input. Translate commercial projections into capacity and production/consumable requirements by SKU, state, and titration, and hold the organization to the cadence once it exists.
• Turn forecast into partner-ready visibility. Ensure fulfillment partners, pharmacy sites, and Procurement receive reliable forward-looking numbers early enough to prepare — production planning for partners, ingredient and consumables sourcing for Procurement.
• Own volume allocation strategy across the network. Balance partner capacity, SLA performance, cost, and state licensure to allocate volume in a way that holds service and budget.
• Own inventory optimization and cost management in partnership with Finance; feed the procurement plan on what to source and in what quantity.
• Lead and develop the planning team. A Manager and analyst today, growing over time — hire, structure, and develop the team, manage performance directly, and build the bench that reduces key-person risk on planning and allocation.
• Identify and mitigate demand and supply-continuity risk to keep operations uninterrupted as volume climbs.
• Partner with Product on forecasting and planning tooling and the underlying data (Zoho today, Tableau planned).
• Close the documentation gap for planning so the cadence and models live in systems, not in individuals.
• Other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

You're a planning leader who has built an S&OP rhythm from nothing — you define what's authoritative, get functions that don't report to you to deliver inputs on your schedule, and own forecast accuracy as a result rather than an excuse. You lead managers without needing oversight yourself, and you're energized rather than frustrated by an environment where the cadence doesn't exist yet.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in supply chain, demand & supply planning, or operations, including 3+ years leading teams — managing managers or leads, not only individual contributors.
• Proven people leadership: has hired and built out a team, managed performance directly including underperformance, and developed people into larger scope.
• Has personally built an S&OP or demand-planning cadence from scratch, not just operated within one.
• Deep demand & supply planning: translating commercial forecasts into capacity, production, and sourcing requirements, and owning forecast accuracy.
• Demonstrated success scaling a high-volume operation through rapid growth (mail-order or specialty pharmacy, fulfillment, distribution, or regulated manufacturing).
• Strong analytics and modeling; able to build and defend a forecast — including its assumptions and weak points — to a finance audience.
• Experience owning inventory and cost outcomes in close partnership with Finance.
• Comfort partnering with Product on planning tooling and data.
• Excellent cross-functional leadership and influence without authority — Sales, Customer Success, Finance, Procurement, and external partners.
• Comfortable in a fast-moving, flat-structure environment with a high volume of concurrent priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 503A compounding pharmacy experience, or pharmacy / healthcare / regulated-industry background (503B, PBM, mail-order Rx, cGMP).
• Formal S&OP / IBP experience; APICS / CPIM or similar.
• Inventory and cost optimization with a strong Finance partnership.
• BI and modeling tools (Zoho Analytics, Tableau, Power BI); SQL familiarity.
• Continuous-improvement or Lean background (Six Sigma or similar).
