What you'll do

  • Setting and executing the Corporate Affairs & Communications strategy (communication, Government Affairs, Corporate Affairs, & Public affairs) for BeOne in the UK & Ireland
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with a broad variety of stakeholder groups including government relations, healthcare organisations, trade associations, working groups, and relevant medical societies (with a focus on oncology and haematology)
  • Steering the planning and execution of strategic initiatives and programs with the above stakeholders
  • Act as a key and active member of the UK & Ireland Leadership Team and play a major role in the co-creation and execution of the local vision, mission and strategy
  • Enhancing and protecting BeOne reputation
  • Finding new ways and opportunities to lift BeOne’s reputation amongst relevant external stakeholders in the UK & Ireland
  • Develop communications strategies and resources to support business priorities incl. the development of aligned messaging helping the organisation telling a compelling story
  • Equip and train leaders to engage stakeholders with confidence and credibility
  • Elevate GM visibility and establish as a go-to-voice in oncology
  • Support employee engagement and lead internal communications through regular communications and celebration of key milestones
  • Support leaders in change management
  • Increase awareness on BeOne products in the haemato-oncology market
  • Develop and implement locally the ESG strategy
  • Lead development and implementation of a local Environmental, Social, and Governance strategy
  • Champion sustainability initiatives to ensure compliance with the NHS Net Zero Supplier Roadmap
  • Define the UK & Ireland corporate narrative around access to medicine, health equity, and clinical trial transparency to build trust with local stakeholders
  • Represent the organisation in UK and Irish government forums and industry trade bodies to shape emerging environmental and public health legislation
  • Audit and align local lobbying activities, political engagement, and trade association memberships with corporate ESG commitments
  • Co-create surround sound campaigns to amplify disease awareness, accelerate access across media and digital platforms
  • Champion and stimulate engagement in disease area charitable activities and community events
  • Develop and implement public affairs strategies to position BeOne as a leading oncology company and increase awareness of products
  • Position BeOne and build stable and trusted relationships with governments officials, trade associations and policy influencers with a particular focus on oncology and haematology
  • Keep management informed of any healthcare developments which are relevant to strategy implementation and development
  • Counsel the leadership team on political and regulatory risks, including the evolution of UK healthcare policy and compliance with Ireland’s CSRD frameworks
  • Manage and plan the expense budget for all Corporate Affairs activities
  • Identify agencies/vendors/technologies/tools that can benefit the execution of the Corporate Affairs Strategy
  • Project management (contracts, invoicing, communication) for Corporate Affairs activities and projects together with admin support
  • Measure the impact of CA activities through defined performance metrics
  • Work in close collaboration with the Global and European Corporate Affairs team at BeOne and represent the local perspective
  • Work with cross-functional teams from other departments in strong alignment with the leadership team
  • Ensure compliance across all areas to maintain the highest standards of patients focused ethical conduct in line with values
  • Consistently ensure operating in accordance with BeOne´s Standards of conduct and all applicable local laws and regulations

What they require

  • Experienced professionals who are highly motivated, collaborative, and share a passionate interest in fighting cancer
  • University degree as a minimum
  • Preferred: higher qualifications (PhD, MBA) advantageous
  • Scientific education and/or experience in similar positions, degree in communications/PR or public health/policy or MBA
  • 15 years of qualified work experience in Corporate Affairs roles, including robust experience in communications
  • Very good knowledge about the legal framework of the health care system and applicable regulations for working together with respective stakeholders
  • High level of social and oral/written communication skills
  • Demonstrated success in a small but fast growing, entrepreneurial commercial environment
  • Knowledge of the haemato-oncology markets
  • High social competence and capacity for teamwork
  • Highly motivated, solution oriented and a positive attitude
  • Success-, service-, and commercial-oriented thinking and working
  • Exceptional communication and thought leadership
  • Confident manner, good stakeholder acceptance due to communicative, health care system, medical and scientific expertise
  • Hands on in operations and strategic
  • Proficient with software programs, such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experienced with electronic CRM systems
  • Fluency (verbal and written) in English and local language required
  • Preferred: any other major European language of advantage
  • Travel: about 20%
