What you'll do

  • Lead development and reporting of total cost of care savings performance estimates for a portfolio of partners
  • Lead annual financial reconciliations for value-based contracts and coordinate internal data resources
  • Evaluate contract performance and interface with actuarial counterparts at partners to validate results
  • Provide guidance on fidelity of performance estimates and advise Finance on revenue recognition tied to projected shared savings
  • Identify and evaluate areas of potential underperformance and partner with health economics and clinical teams to find root causes
  • Execute actuarial analyses and develop models to quantify financial and risk trade-offs between contract features
  • Support development and maintenance of financial models mapping clinical and operational activities to financial outcomes

What they require

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Actuarial Sciences, Economics, Math or other quantitative discipline
  • Associateship or Fellowship from the Society of Actuaries (ASA or FSA)
  • 8+ years of actuarial experience in health care and/or medical economics
  • 2+ years of experience mentoring junior staff members
  • Understanding of Medicare Advantage health plan data (Claims, MMR, MAO-04, etc.)
  • Experience using SQL or another coding language to pull and transform data from large healthcare claims databases
  • Proficiency in writing clean, efficient code and maintaining strong data management practices
  • Experience working across organizations, building rapport with data teams and downstream consumers
