What you'll do

  • Provide Independent Engineering advisory support for technical due diligence, credit evaluation, lifecycle monitoring, and assurance activities for DOE/LPO Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) Program.
  • Design and improve lifecycle technical review processes, delivery workflows, document controls, and technical review quality assurance.
  • Review project documentation, evaluate technical and commercial interfaces, identify risks and mitigations, and validate assumptions.
  • Support conditions precedent and disbursement readiness reviews where applicable.
  • Prepare defensible work products including process maps, stage-gate controls, deliverable templates, workflow metrics, and continuous improvement actions.
  • Coordinate with engineering, finance, legal, construction, operations, environmental, HSE, and project controls stakeholders to support lender and DOE decision-making.
  • Participate in data room reviews, borrower/contractor interviews, site observations, monthly monitoring meetings, and risk register updates.
  • Perform draw package checks, issue closure tracking, and prepare Independent Engineer reports for DOE, LPO, credit, and program governance stakeholders.

What they require

  • 10+ years of relevant engineering, construction, operations, compliance, risk, finance, or energy infrastructure advisory experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geoscience, petroleum engineering, mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil, environmental, or related technical field.
  • Demonstrated work on oil and gas, power, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects for owners, lenders, independent engineers, or federal clients.
  • PE, PMP, CSP, API, NACE/AMPP, PMI, or discipline-specific credentials preferred where applicable.
  • Ability to produce lender-ready, technically defensible independent engineering deliverables and translate technical evidence into actionable financing and risk implications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (advanced Excel), Adobe Acrobat, Visio, and data analytics tools; strong report writing and Excel-based analysis skills.
  • Willingness/ability to support remote project work across the United States with on-site meetings in Washington, DC as required.
  • Security clearance is a valuable asset for federal engagements.
