What you'll do

  • Designs and implements database structures based on organizational requirements.
  • Conducts systems analysis to understand and address database needs in alignment with business processes.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements for database solutions.
  • Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties for moderately complex workflows and systems.
  • Monitors and optimizes database performance, including tuning queries and database configurations.
  • Implements and manages security measures to protect sensitive data, including access controls and encryption.
  • Develops and maintains backup procedures and disaster recovery plans to ensure data availability and integrity.
  • Ensures data accuracy, consistency, and reliability within the database.
  • Maintains and updates SQL code to correct errors and enhance functionality.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant regulations and standards and assists with audits.
  • Partners with business process experts to learn and understand database problems, making recommendations for enhancements and solutions.
  • Plans for future database capacity and storage needs, assessing current usage and forecasting growth.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves database related issues to minimize downtime and data loss.

What they require

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Preferred: Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator – SQL.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in database administration.
  • Preferred: Experience within a healthcare environment.
  • Full Time Days Schedule: M-F; 8am to 5pm - occasional after hours or weekend coverage required.
  • The carrying out of non-routine procedures under constantly changing conditions, in conformance with general instructions from a supervisor.
  • Works with internal and/or external customers via telephone or face to face interaction.
  • Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
