Database Administrator

We currently have a vacancy for a Database Administrator in English, to offer his/her services as an expert remotely (within EU) . In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team. Tasks: Database installation, configuration and administration; Database monitoring and tuning; Application installation, configuration and management; Responsible for providing technical support for the database environment including overseeing the development and organization of the databases; monitoring of application usage and performance; Access management; Database / application incident management; Coordination of database and application support Requirements University degree in IT combined with relevant IT professional experience of at least 10 years; Minimum 6 years in modelling tools (e.g. UML); Minimum 5 years of experience with RDBMS; Experience in database design and model (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MsSQL); Experience in Database Administration, Tuning, Management and Security; Excellent knowledge of application development environments; Experience in database backup and restore strategy using full database backup/restore and transaction log backup/restore; Experience in active/active and active/passive clustering; Experience with high-availability strategies (includes log shipping, DB mirroring, replication and SRDF) and experience in Disaster Recovery tests; Experience in database monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, maintenance and auditing configuration; Good knowledge of the design and development of web and multi-tiers Internet applications; Experience in writing technical documentation; Understanding of Active Directory in the context of database security and windows scripting is preferred; Certification in Postgres will be an asset; Excellent command of the English language.
