What you'll do

  • Design and execute SQL-based ETL processes to migrate public safety data from legacy systems into the Mark43 platform
  • Collaborate with data migration contractors, review technical deliverables, and provide guidance
  • Meet with customer records management teams to understand legacy data structures and translate them to the Mark43 schema
  • Investigate uniquely formatted source databases to uncover edge cases and ensure data fidelity
  • Work with Mark43 deployment, engineering, and product teams to improve migration tooling and process
  • Balance project timelines and quality standards while maintaining strong internal and external stakeholder relationships

What they require

  • 2+ years of experience in ETL development or SQL-based data engineering roles
  • Comprehensive understanding of data migration processes
  • Comfortable owning projects from discovery through delivery
  • Attention to detail and ability to navigate ambiguity
  • Curious and resourceful; enjoys figuring out how systems work and how to make them work better
  • Clear and collaborative; able to communicate technical details to non-technical stakeholders and work across teams
  • Committed to quality and attention to detail
  • 2+ years of experience in a data migration, ETL development, or SQL development role
  • Deep understanding of SQL and relational database design
  • Demonstrated experience writing complex SQL scripts
  • Ability to analyze and translate legacy data models into new schemas
  • Preferred: Experience managing contractor deliverables
  • Interest in public safety data and the impact of high-quality migrations on customer success
  • Preferred: Prior work with public safety or government systems
