Why we’re building Carbon Trail?

The fashion industry is responsible for ~10% of global greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) and more than 90% of its emissions stem from the supply chain. Most fashion brands and retailers lack actual supply chain data and therefore, struggle to meet environmental impact disclosure regulations. The existing software solutions are generic and lack industry-specific insights like the impacts of recycled and organic materials, manufacturing technologies used across different fabrics & products, and the ability to collect and integrate energy resource consumption data from suppliers.

This is why we created Carbon Trail, a software platform tailored to the fashion industry. Leveraging data and AI/ML, our product provides instantaneous product environment footprint (PEF) reports and critical analytics that cover the lifecycle of any fashion product. This helps fashion retailers and brands accurately measure the environmental footprints of their products which can then be used to create digital product passports, get a deeper understanding of their Scope 3 emissions, and identify emission reduction initiatives to meet their net-zero goals.

Among our founders, we have experience leading the development of groundbreaking data, IoT, and AI/ML products at Microsoft and other startups. We also have hands-on experience building climate strategies for global clients and implementing clean-energy solutions like solar. We believe climate change is the greatest challenge facing humanity and want to dedicate our careers to fighting against it.

What You Will Do

Client Onboarding & Technical Implementation Leadership:

• Own the end-to-end client implementation process, from kick-off to successful go-live, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience.
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones, meticulously tracking progress against objectives.
• Conduct technical discovery sessions to understand client's data structures, existing systems, and specific sustainability reporting needs within their supply chain.
• Collaborate closely with clients to facilitate the collection, transformation, and ingestion of complex supply chain data (e.g., product data, energy consumption, material compositions).
• Work with our Engineering teams to configure the Carbon Trail platform to meet unique client requirements and troubleshoot any integration or data quality issues.

Data Analysis & Issue Identification

• Deeply understand the intricacies of fashion and retail supply chain data, identifying common challenges like missing data, inconsistencies, or non-standard formats.
• Proactively analyze client data within the Carbon Trail platform to identify anomalies, potential issues, and areas for optimization related to carbon accounting.
• Provide expert guidance on best practices for data collection and management to improve data quality and accuracy for carbon footprinting.

Project Management & Stakeholder Communication:

• Manage multiple simultaneous client implementation projects, prioritizing tasks and ensuring timely delivery.
• Effectively communicate project status, risks, and dependencies to internal teams (Sales, Engineering) and external client stakeholders.
• Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and exceed client expectations.

Customer Success & Relationship Management:

• Build and nurture strong, lasting relationships with key client stakeholders, acting as their trusted advisor and primary point of contact post-implementation.
• Proactively monitor client usage and success metrics, identifying opportunities for deeper engagement or further value realization.
• Gather client feedback to inform product development and service improvements.

What Will Make You A Great Fit

Do you have significant experience in an early-stage environment where you played a generalist role and built processes for scaling the business from 1 to n?

In addition, possessing the following technical skills will make you an excellent fit:

• 3-5 years of experience in a client-facing role such as Technical Project Manager, Implementation Manager, or Customer Success Manager in a SaaS environment.
• Background in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Ability to wear multiple hats in a fast-paced environment.
• A problem-solver who thrives on improving systems and processes.
• Hands-on, proactive, and adaptable to shifting priorities in an early-stage startup.
