What you'll do

  • Take full ownership of disputes and chargebacks across Adyen, PayPal, and American Express, racing the clock to meet every provider's response deadline.
  • Build compelling, evidence-based representment cases, piecing together transaction records, customer communications, usage logs, and terms-of-service acceptance into a case that holds up.
  • Get ahead of trouble by monitoring and responding to dispute alerts from Verifi and Ethoca, stopping chargebacks before they ever escalate.
  • Reconcile payment and dispute data across provider platforms, internal systems, and bookkeeping software so nothing slips through the cracks.
  • Keep customer and case data clean, current, and accurate in the company database.
  • Dig into dispute trends, win/loss rates, and root causes, then bring forward ideas that reduce chargeback volume at the source.
  • Document and maintain backoffice and dispute-handling processes so knowledge doesn't live only in your head.
  • Partner with the wider Backoffice team, swapping insights and best practices that make everyone sharper.
  • Stay a lifelong student of our products and services, because the best dispute cases come from people who truly understand what customers are buying.

What they require

  • Hands-on experience with backoffice or payment operations, ideally with providers like Adyen, PayPal, or American Express.
  • Comfort juggling multiple systems, from internal tools to bookkeeping software, with the adaptability to pick up new platforms quickly.
  • An analytical, detail-oriented mind that can spot inconsistencies in transaction data and build a fact-based case from the ground up.
  • Clear, persuasive writing - your dispute responses need to be structured, evidence-backed, and genuinely convincing.
  • A solution-oriented mindset that stays calm and sharp under deadline pressure.
  • The versatility to thrive both independently and as part of a team.
  • A strong sense of reliability - dispute deadlines don't wait, and neither should you.
  • Experience with Ethoca, Verifi, or other chargeback prevention platforms.
  • A background in subscription-based businesses or SaaS.
  • Additional language skills such as Spanish, German, French, or Italian.
