What you'll do

  • Learn and prepare accurate purchase orders for chemicals and process related paperwork, including purchase order revisions.
  • Contact chemical suppliers to obtain competitive prices, determine availability, terms, and delivery schedules; evaluate quotes and recommend awards.
  • Execute duties with responsiveness and accuracy to meet defined performance metrics.
  • Work with suppliers on procurement efforts, delivery, quality, problem resolution and material expedites.
  • Act as focal point for resolution of procurement discrepancies by communicating with customers and suppliers and interfacing with multiple business and computer systems.
  • Resolve customer service issues, concerns and escalate issues as needed.
  • Initiate and escalate critical material expedites of open POs to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for day-to-day supply chain service activities to internal employees and external clients.
  • Accurately update all required records related to chemical procurement within company/client systems.
  • Administer customer contract requirements specific to chemical procurement and ensure supplier compliance with site and client requirements.
  • Monitor open PO report and proactively identify/address possible delivery expedite issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Execute or escalate logistics of purchases to ensure delivery to correct locations while meeting EH&S requirements.
  • Coordinate with other departments as needed to meet customer requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What they require

  • High School Diploma or GED with five years of related industry experience is required; OR Bachelor's degree in related fields AND one to two years of buying experience; OR equivalent combination of experience/education.
  • One to two years of experience in purchasing, supply chain or banking industry preferred but not required.
  • Ability to travel is required (minimal).
  • ITAR requirements met (work authorization/security clearance noted).
