What you'll do
- Create and maintain a registry of all company technology solutions, including purpose, owner, and current state
- Build roadmaps for each project and a unified technology roadmap aligned with business goals
- Introduce a unified documentation standard so new team members can take over projects quickly
- Audit existing solutions and perform refactoring or rebuilding where needed
- Build the development team structure, including grades, KPIs, performance reviews, job descriptions, and areas of responsibility
- Separate R&D/Product Manager and developer functions
- Organize onboarding for new employees, including documentation, access, and project introduction
- Reduce bus factor on critical roles and build a culture of succession
- Control infrastructure processes, ownership, and documentation
- Maintain an infrastructure risk map covering missing documentation, outdated solutions, and missing owners
- Ensure security of infrastructure, data, and access
- Build an R&D pipeline from hypothesis generation to MVP, testing, implementation, and business handoff
- Participate in prioritizing incoming tasks with operations teams
- Proactively identify bottlenecks across the company and propose automation
- Maintain a unified, visible, prioritized backlog
- Build a process for incoming requests from departments
- Organize product testing and implementation processes
- Standardize onboarding for new teams with a target connection time of two weeks or less
What they require
- 3+ years of experience as CTO, Head of Engineering, or in a similar role
- Experience managing a development team of 15+ people
- Experience building MVP teams is a plus
- Experience working in high-growth companies is a plus
- Understanding of the affiliate industry or adjacent areas such as performance marketing, adtech, or fintech is a plus
- Ability to build processes from scratch, including backlog, documentation, grades, and R&D pipeline, is a plus
