What you'll do
- Assess human responses and plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for individuals or families for whom the nurse is responsible.
- Be fully responsible for all actions as a licensed nurse and accountable to patients for the quality of care delivered.

- Assign or delegate tasks based on the needs of the patient and skill level of the RN, LPN, or support staff.
- Assign duties and lunches for staff when performing charge role.

- Provide peers with both verbal and written feedback regarding clinical practice and role performance.
- Share knowledge and skills with peers and colleagues.

- Participate on interdisciplinary team to evaluate clinical care or health services.
- Promote patient safety initiatives, including National Patient Safety Goals.

- Assure appropriate order sets are used.
- Supervise, delegate and evaluate assigned LPN scope of practice as appropriate.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, evaluate and implement a patient plan of care according to individual patient needs as prescribed by physician, nurse and hospital policy, including patient and family.
- Derive culturally and age-appropriate expected outcomes involving the patient, family, and other health care providers.
- Analyze health status of individuals and families against the norm, when possible, to determine patient care needs.
- Assess patient reports/records change of condition, notify physician and/or supervisor, intervene appropriately and document accordingly.
- Accept assignments in areas other than primary unit and perform duties within individualized competency.
- Demonstrate commitment to continuous lifelong learning for self and others.
- Promote advancement of the profession through participation in professional organizations.
- Seek formal and independent learning activities using current research findings and other evidence to maintain and develop clinical and professional skills and knowledge.
- Participate in systematic peer review and obtain informal feedback regarding one’s own practice from patients, peers, professional colleagues, and others.
- Identify areas of strength and areas where professional development would be beneficial.
- Meet time and attendance guidelines per hospital policy.
- Continuously evaluate and assess patient and family satisfaction.
- Participate in department specific patient satisfaction initiatives.

- Assess for and attempt to resolve patient/family concerns.
- Work rotating shifts with 24/7 coverage and use effective time management skills to complete assigned duties and responsibilities within established work shift.
- Comply with HIPAA, privacy policies and procedures, data security guidelines, and information security policy when accessing covered information, cardholder data, or confidential customer information.
What they require
- Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- Preferred: Certification in area of specialty.
- Preferred: 1 year of travel nursing experience.
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- CPR – American Heart Association.
- Must adhere to ethical and legal standards and behavioral expectations set forth in the code of business conduct and company policies.
