No BS summary

Program lead with 12+ years in furnisher or consumer reporting compliance under FCRA and Regulation V. Must have built data accuracy/integrity programs and be able to own consumer reporting disputes end to end across product, engineering, data, operations, legal, and regulators.

What you'll do

  • Own the furnisher and consumer reporting disputes program end to end — written policies and procedures, control design, monitoring and testing, training, and periodic review.
  • Define what a reasonable investigation means at Block, and hold that standard consistently across both direct and indirect consumer disputes.
  • Design the remediation path for inaccurate data, tracing a correction from the originating event data through downstream data stores and into the reports and scores that rely on it, and partner with platform, data engineering, and modeling teams to implement it.
  • Build the workflow constructs this program needs and Block does not have today — data correction as a resolution outcome, investigative processes, and customer notifications.
  • Investigate recurring data defects to root cause and resolve them upstream with the teams that own the source data, rather than correcting the same records repeatedly.
  • Represent our consumer reporting program to our regulators, and keep the program examination ready.
  • Advise product and engineering teams as they design new features, so that reporting accuracy and data correction obligations are built in from the start rather than retrofitted.

What they require

  • 12+ years of furnisher or consumer reporting compliance experience under FCRA and Regulation V at a bank, fintech, card issuer, or lender.
  • A record of building or materially reshaping a data accuracy and integrity program.
  • Familiarity with modern credit modeling infrastructure, and experience partnering with modeling, data engineering, and platform teams to carry dispute investigations and data corrections through to the underlying data.
  • Experience with FCRA private-right-of-action litigation, working alongside legal counsel.
  • Working knowledge of the regimes adjacent to FCRA — Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA) Red Flags, Equal Credit Opportunity Act and Regulation B adverse action, the Military Lending Act and the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, Regulation E, Regulation Z, and material state credit reporting statutes.
  • Experience presenting to and engaging with the CFPB, FTC, or state examiners.
  • A record of advancing cross-functional programs without direct authority, partnering with product, engineering, operations, and legal teams as peers.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with specialty consumer reporting agencies alongside the nationwide bureaus.
  • Preferred: Prior supervisory or enforcement experience at the CFPB, FTC, or a state attorney general's office.
  • Preferred: A CRCM, CIPP, or comparable certification.
  • Preferred: Experience in a multi-brand consumer finance environment.
