What you'll do

  • Define and develop the strategic pillars and content frameworks for lifecycle and promotional email campaigns.
  • Create cohesive storytelling that drives customer engagement and action.
  • Collaborate with creative and strategy partners to create unified, visually stunning, and highly effective messaging.
  • Translate complex client briefs and data insights into actionable creative strategies and content calendars.
  • Prioritize creating accessible, inclusive content that aligns with WCAG standards.
  • Stay ahead of the curve on email marketing trends, consumer behavior, and strategic best practices.
  • Cultivate a deep understanding of the client’s brand voice, acting as its champion across campaigns.
  • Clearly, confidently, and persuasively present strategic concepts and creative ideas to internal teams and clients.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for testing, segmentation, and optimization to improve campaign performance.
  • Manage multiple complex projects, strategic roadmaps, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Identify risks and issues and troubleshoot the root cause, escalating as appropriate.
  • Typically, but not always, manage direct reports including: recruiting, onboarding, ongoing training, 1:1 coaching, and performance management.

What they require

  • 8+ years of experience as a Copywriter, Content Strategist, or Copy Strategist, ideally within an agency environment.
  • Proven experience planning campaign strategies, content pillars, or customer journeys.
  • Work demonstrating strategic thinking, conceptual storytelling, and high-performing email copy.
  • Experience mentoring, managing, or leading creative and strategic team members.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with a keen eye for both detail.
  • Advanced ability to develop, maintain, and optimize content calendars and lifecycle maps.
  • Deep experience using data, performance analytics, and post-campaign reports to glean insights and inform future content decisions.
  • Strong understanding of email marketing best practices, deliverability considerations, and industry trends.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing collaboration skills.
  • Working knowledge of WCAG as it applies to digital content and email.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Candidates must have current U.S. work authorization.
