What you'll do

  • Manage transactional work for Longbridge Financial across all business areas, including but not limited to corporate contracts, loan products, HECMs and proprietary home equity loans, compliance, audits, complex transactional agreements and partner/vendor contracts.
  • Review and negotiate transactional agreements and all contracts, legal correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Research state-specific updates and regulatory compliance related to loan products.
  • Review and negotiate vendor contracts, including NDA, MSA, SOW, DPA, SAAS and Third Party Originator.
  • Review and negotiate Third Party Originator agreements: mortgage brokers, principal authorized agents and correspondent lenders.
  • Manage end-to-end contract lifecycle, including intake, drafting, negotiation and organized recordkeeping.
  • Partner with business units to standardize templates, playbooks and negotiation parameters.
  • Help maintain a new contract management system/repository and track key dates, obligations and renewal terms.
  • Assist with corporate transaction matters as needed.
  • Provide advice on compliance requirements for all consumer federal and state laws and regulations including but not limited to: ECOA, FCRA/FACTA, Fair Housing Act, FTC Act, Dodd-Frank Act, UDAAP, Flood Disaster Protection Laws, GLBA, HMDA, Homeowner’s Protection Act, RESPA, TCPA, TILA as well as FHA/HUD and GNMA guidelines.
  • Advise sales on compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources in the preparation of employee offer letters and compensation plans; separation agreements; employee matters.
  • Additional responsibilities and projects, as assigned.

What they require

  • Juris Doctorate required.
  • Active bar membership in good standing in any US jurisdiction.
  • Minimum 3 years’ residential mortgage banking experience in legal/compliance.
  • Preferred: Reverse mortgage experience or HELOC experience, a plus.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Working knowledge of US privacy and data security laws.
  • Strong contract drafting, redlining and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, technical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and with all levels of the organization.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of MS Office Suite, All-regs.com, Lexis-Nexis, Practical Law Connect, Loan Operating Systems, a plus.
  • Sound Judgment and ability to analyze information and systems.
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
