What you'll do

  • Create custom strategies and implement best practices for clients to achieve NSMs.
  • Use the project phase as a foundation for building initial client strategy.
  • Use clients' overall marketing goals, current and ongoing campaigns, and historical performance to optimize and revise strategies over the client lifetime while following Directive best practices.
  • Work closely with the Associate Director when roadblocks impact strategy and goal attainment.
  • Craft creative briefs and compelling content campaigns focused on ideation from competitor and audience insights.
  • Use best practices including LTV:CAC modeling, Customer Generation, Share of SERP, and Content Production to inform strategies.
  • Use available data to set goals for clients during their engagement period.
  • Use data sources including Google Analytics, CRM data, SEMRush reporting, and Ahrefs reporting.
  • Get Associate Director approval for all goals before presenting them to clients.
  • Ensure planned strategy is executed.
  • Use Asana for project management.
  • Delegate tasks to Specialists, other team members, and clients, and ensure tasks are completed on time.
  • Partner with Project Managers where present to ensure tasks are created, assigned, due dates are met, and updates are communicated to the client.
  • Work closely with content writers and designers to complete content campaigns for clients on time.
  • Ensure content campaign quality meets client standards.
  • Serve as the main interface between clients and the internal team.
  • Build relationships with clients beyond deliverables and understand them on a human level.
  • Proactively communicate with clients and internal leadership regularly to drive results.
  • Communicate timeline expectations for deliverables and goal attainment progress to clients.
  • Use shared communication channels such as Slack between bi-weekly meetings.
  • Send deliverables on a regular cadence instead of only during bi-weekly meetings.
  • Communicate roadblocks, account growth opportunities, and moments of change on client accounts to internal leadership.
  • Regularly report to clients on the progress and impact of strategy.
  • Report NSM progress and ongoing deliverables in bi-weekly client meetings.
  • Prepare monthly reports.
  • Prepare quarterly reports.
  • Prepare bi-annual business review presentations.
  • Regularly look for opportunities for clients to grow their business with Directive.
  • Identify opportunities for clients to grow into another service line such as SEO or Paid Media.
  • Identify opportunities for clients to grow within their current service line by increasing content, SEO, or Paid Media budgets.
  • Ask for client referrals at key moments.

What they require

  • Proven track record of success implementing SEO principles and content strategy, including keyword research, on-page optimization, and link building.
  • Analytical insight and ability to analyse website traffic and SEO metrics using tools like Google Analytics.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort being client-facing and owning relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong familiarity with industry tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMRush, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog/crawling tools.
  • Proven organisational, project, and time management skills.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for digital marketing, SEO, and content.
  • Agency experience is required.
  • B2B tech and/or SaaS experience is required.
  • Driven to stay ahead of industry trends, including actively learning how AI and automation can enhance marketing and operations.
  • Must have established and current work authorization and permanently reside in Canada.
  • Able to operate a laptop computer, computer software platforms, and other office productivity tools as necessary.
  • Able to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Able to observe and interpret written and/or verbal communication.
  • Must have reliable internet access.
  • Must have a professional background.
