French Professional standard / bilingual written and verbal communication; able to produce materials without translation review; requiredEnglish Professional-level; required

What you'll do

  • Establish active relationships with French-language journalists across outlets such as: ICI Radio-Canada, La Presse, Le Devoir, TVA Nouvelles, and La Presse Canadienne
  • Lead end-to-end communications on Francophone-originated or conservative-reach campaigns, including identifying and amplifying quality petitions
  • Produce bilingual press releases, media advisories, and journalist pitches to Canadian Press Style standard in both French and English, without requiring translation review
  • Develop and maintain a conservative outlet database (National Post, Postmedia regional, Francophone conservative press)
  • Build a shortlist of francophone petition starters, conservative influencers and credible validators that the Canada team can activate for future campaigns
  • Develop and execute bilingual media strategies, pitching French-language and English national outlets across Canada with a particular focus on growth in the francophone media ecosystem
  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists
  • Identify petitions to amplify
  • Position petition starters for earned media opportunities
  • Conduct media prep to get petition starters ready for interviews
  • Serve as the team's lead on all French-language communications
  • Manage inbound French-language media inquiries
  • Produce bilingual press materials without requiring translation support
  • Advise the team on conservative influencer outreach
  • Develop conservative media relationships
  • Proactively pitch into target media ecosystems

What they require

  • Earned media and journalist relations, with demonstrated ability to pitch and place stories in both French-language and English national media
  • Bilingual written and verbal communication (French/English) at a professional standard
  • Conservative audience framing and media ecosystem fluency, including familiarity with the values, tone, and outlet preferences of centre-right Canadian audiences
  • Campaign storytelling in the journalistic tradition: ability to identify the news hook, the relatable hero, the clear ask, and shape a narrative that travels
  • Media strategy and timing: you know when to pitch, who to call first, how to sequence a campaign across earned, social, and email
  • Increasingly strategic with AI: You should be comfortable using AI tools to accelerate research, drafting, and pitch personalization. You do not need to be an AI lead, but passive resistance to AI tooling is disqualifying.
  • 5+ years in one or more of: journalism (news or broadcast, French or bilingual), communications at a PR agency with francophone or bilingual clients, or advocacy communications with a conservative-aligned organization or campaign
  • A background that combines media and communications experience is the ideal

  • Professional-level English proficiency is required for all roles.
  • All resumes and application responses must be submitted in English.
  • Candidates should have thought about whether it’s a fit to work at a genuinely open platform where they will regularly be exposed to opinions and campaigns which are in sharp contrast to their own values and/or beliefs.

Benefits

  • Benefits and perks also vary based on location.
  • Reasonable accommodations for candidates with disabilities throughout the recruitment process
