Mid-market SaaS sales account executive for Canada-based candidates. Needs experience selling SaaS to technical and business stakeholders, owning territory from prospecting through close, adoption, and expansion.

What you'll do

  • Own and manage a broad Mid-Market book of business as the primary point of contact in the territory.
  • Focus on customer accounts with 250 to 1,999 employees across varying project sizes and complexity.
  • Articulate the value of GitLab’s AI-powered DevSecOps platform to Mid-Market prospects and customers.
  • Build and maintain pipeline through prospecting, qualification, and opportunity advancement using structured sales methodologies.
  • Document buying criteria, decision processes, next steps, and key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with sales development, customer success, renewals, marketing, technical teams, and partners to co-sell and close opportunities.
  • Support customer adoption, reduce churn and contraction, and participate in quarterly forecasting and territory planning.
  • Share win/loss insights, update the sales handbook, and represent customer feedback into the product via the public issue tracker.

What they require

  • Must be located in Canada.
  • Experience selling SaaS solutions through value-based conversations with technical and business stakeholders, ideally including development or DevSecOps teams.
  • Ability to manage a broad mid-market territory as primary point of contact from prospecting through close, adoption, and expansion.
  • Skill in building and maintaining customer relationships, including discovery, negotiation, and closing.
  • Comfortable driving outbound prospecting, creating and maintaining pipeline, and keeping accurate territory and forecast documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate with sales development, customer success, renewals, marketing, partners, and technical teams.
  • Clear and structured communication skills, including presenting GitLab’s value proposition and documenting customer insights.
  • Interest in GitLab, open source, and tools supporting software development.
  • Willingness to travel to meet customers and attend events as needed.
