Experienced college admissions coach based in California, working remotely with grades 9-12 students on applications, essays, strategy, and admissions planning. Must have a Bachelor's degree, 4-10 hours/week availability, and at least two years as a US college admissions officer, college prep guidance counselor, or independent educational consultant.
The Association of Test Preparation, Admissions, and Private Tutoring (TPAPT) is seeking experienced college admissions coaches to assist students in grades 9-12 with college applications and essays. Position: College Admissions Coaching Classification: W2 Hours: 4-10 / week Meeting duration: 60 minutes Location: Remote, CA based From the Chapter: We’re looking for experienced former admissions officers, current IECs, or high school college counselors to work with families in need guidance on the college admissions journey. Day-to-day activities might include the following: · Monthly, bimonthly, or weekly meetings with students and parents to create and review college admissions strategy · Develop a balanced college list based on students’ goals, backgrounds, and interests · Provide college essay support and feedback · Plan application submission timeline and strategy (ED 1, ED 2, EA, Reg. Decision, etc.) · Curate students’ activities resume · Plan for and request letters of recommendation · Provide admissions interview coaching · Plan for campus visits and tours · Manage academic, standardized test, and extracurricular plans for students · Coach students through independent projects · Update meeting notes after each session · Review and compare admissions offers with students and families · Maintain open and regular lines of communication with students and parents to ensure that clients feel supported Requirements Earned Bachelor's 4-10 hours/ week of availability At least two years of experience as one of the following: Associate Dean/ Director of Admissions from a US four year degree granting college or university College Prep Guidance Counselor Independent Educational Consultant (individuals only, no firms) Expert knowledge of the college admissions criteria at competitive schools, little ivies, and hidden gems. An outgoing, empathetic personality along with strong relationship-building skills Proven, exceptional writing skills The ability to work independently Strong attention to detail and strong project management skills High degree of confidence with web-conferencing, document sharing, online lesson delivery, and scheduling software Benefits $85-$95/hr commensurate Flexible schedule Reliable demand
