What you'll do

  • Utilizes the electronic medical record to code diseases, procedures, and operations for professional and facility services.
  • Researches appropriate codes using designated resources (coding initiatives, local medical review policies, HCPCS, Coders Desk Reference, etc.).
  • Partners and communicates with providers to provide feedback and on‑going education about coding criteria and guidelines.
  • Monitors daily activity reports to assure all encounters are coded and submitted for billing; assists Business Office with coding‑related denial resolution and claim resubmission.
  • Performs documentation review and audits to validate coding and works with physicians and leaders to interpret coding data reports and trends.
