What you'll do

  • Administer, configure, and support the firm's Microsoft ecosystem, including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, Exchange, user provisioning, licensing, and tenant management.
  • Design, deploy, and manage secure and scalable Microsoft Azure environments, including virtual machines, networking, storage, application services, VPN connectivity, and related cloud resources.
  • Maintain and support hybrid infrastructure environments, including on-premises servers, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and directory services.
  • Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform and ARM templates to streamline and automate deployments.
  • Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and capacity using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and other observability tools.
  • Manage identity and access services through Microsoft Entra ID, including conditional access, multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, and security controls.
  • Design and support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions utilizing Azure Site Recovery, Azure Backup, Rubrik, and related technologies.
  • Implement cloud governance standards, resource management practices, and cost optimization initiatives across Azure environments.
  • Provide hands-on administration and troubleshooting of network infrastructure, including switches, access points, gateways, SD-WAN technologies, VPN services, and wireless networking platforms.
  • Serve as the primary internal liaison with managed service providers for infrastructure and network-related support, escalations, and issue resolution.
  • Partner with cybersecurity teams to strengthen infrastructure security, implement best practices, and remediate vulnerabilities across cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Create and maintain architecture documentation, operational procedures, technical standards, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Provide advanced Tier 2/3 support for complex infrastructure issues and collaborate with vendors and Microsoft support when needed.
  • Stay informed on emerging cloud technologies, platform enhancements, and industry best practices to continuously improve the firm's technology environment.

What they require

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in systems administration, cloud engineering, or infrastructure engineering, including hands-on administration of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune, Exchange, and Active Directory environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, including compute, storage, networking, identity, and security solutions.
  • Experience managing Windows Server and Linux environments across both cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or ARM templates and experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably Azure DevOps.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, load balancing, SD-WAN, and enterprise networking technologies.
  • Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python, Bash, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, high-availability architectures, and business continuity planning.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and technical documentation skills.
  • Experience supporting enterprise networking infrastructure, including Ubiquiti or comparable networking platforms, and collaborating with managed service providers (MSPs) in a co-managed IT environment.
  • Preferred: Industry certifications are strongly preferred, including Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert (MS-102), Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300), Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305), Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700), or equivalent credentials.
  • Preferred: Experience working in a law firm or other professional services environment is preferred.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with ITIL principles and experience using IT service management (ITSM) platforms or ticketing systems is preferred.
