The Role: Cloud Administrator / Junior DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a motivated and responsible Cloud Administrator / Junior DevOps Engineer to join our technical team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in networking and Linux administration who wants to develop their skills in cloud infrastructure and grow into a DevOps Engineer.

In this role, you will help administer Axon's internal cloud and collaboration tools while gradually taking ownership of infrastructure and DevOps-related tasks. You will work closely with experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, Terraform, CI/CD, monitoring, and automation.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, highly responsible, and eager to learn. You should be comfortable investigating issues independently, asking questions when needed, and taking ownership of assigned tasks and their outcomes.

What You Will Do

• Administer and support internal tools and services, including VPN, Jira, Google Workspace, Slack, and related systems.
• Manage users, access rights, permissions, and basic technical issues.
• Troubleshoot networking, system, and access-related problems.
• Support Linux-based systems and perform basic system administration tasks.
• Assist with infrastructure management, deployments, monitoring, and automation.
• Gradually take ownership of tasks related to AWS, Docker, Terraform, Git, and CI/CD.
• Monitor systems and help identify and resolve infrastructure issues.
• Maintain technical documentation and keep configuration and access information up to date.
• Work with experienced engineers to investigate incidents and implement solutions.
• Contribute to improving internal infrastructure, automation, and technical processes.

What You Need for This Position

• Solid understanding of TCP/IP and networking fundamentals.
• Good understanding of VPN, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and web servers.
• Understanding of Internet architecture, network communication, routing, DNS, and how web services interact.
• Good hands-on Linux administration skills, including systemd, services, processes, logs, permissions, and basic troubleshooting.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with a structured approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to investigate issues independently and identify possible solutions.
• Strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and accountability for assigned tasks.
• Proactive mindset and willingness to take initiative rather than waiting for detailed instructions.
• Motivation to continuously learn and develop toward a DevOps Engineer role.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with technical teams.

Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, Terraform, Git, or CI/CD.
• Basic scripting skills in Bash or Python.
• Previous experience in cloud, infrastructure, system, or IT administration.
• Experience with monitoring or logging tools.
• Relevant courses, certifications, personal projects, or homelab experience related to DevOps or cloud technologies.
