A senior pharmacist (PharmD) with 5–10 years of drug‐information/managerial experience at a payer (health plan or PBM). Must know formulary development, coverage management, and the Commercial/Medicare landscape, and be ready to advise pharma clients on payer strategy.

What you'll do

  • Provide expert opinions to APS and its clients on the clinical value of drugs to payers and how they will be perceived and managed
  • Support APS and clients with drug information expertise across all therapeutic areas, including ultra-orphan, orphan, and non-orphan disease states
  • Conduct drug information research to understand how payer lines of business will perceive and manage new drugs and indications
  • Serve as a resource on payer rationales and approaches for Prior Authorization, step‐therapy edits, and other coverage rules
  • Ample Word/PowerPoint deliverables describing commercial viability, competition, and likely payer coverage practices
  • Plan, conduct, and concisely relate payer research involving products being pursued by clients
  • Help plan, develop, and moderate virtual and in‑person payer advisory boards
  • Review and improve client value propositions, including preapproval information exchange (PIE) presentation
  • Assist with statements of work for new business and participate in client presentations
  • Collaborate with the Chief Clinical Officer and VP of Clinical Services

What they require

  • PharmD degree or equivalent (e.g., BS pharmacy with advanced degree)
  • At least 5–10 years of managerial/supervisory drug information position with a payer (health plan or PBM)
  • Comprehensive understanding of payer organizations and payer regulatory landscape in Commercial and Medicare
  • Experience developing drug monographs, class reviews, formularies, coverage criteria, appeals criteria, clinical policies with payers
  • Experience with Commercial and Medicare lines of business (Medicaid is desirable, not required)
  • Experience in benefit design, coverage determination, benefit allocation, coverage review and appeal process
  • Experience in P&T committee processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Dedication to life-long learning and development
  • Ability to facilitate/moderate payer advisory boards/panels
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
