Sales role covering Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, and upstate New York for AbbVie's oncology portfolio. Must be U.S.-based, hold a valid driver's license, and pass healthcare industry credentialing checks. Oncology sales or clinical experience is preferred but not strictly required.

What you'll do

  • Uses opportunities to understand and address customer needs.
  • Builds strong relationships that provide market intelligence and support development of compliant and innovative programs and initiatives.
  • Builds and maintains relationships across accounts that result in opportunities to benefit patients, physicians, and other HCPs within the geography.
  • Consistently partners with in-house and/or cross-franchise leaders, and collaborates with such partners to identify, design and/or adapt appropriate approaches and tactics demonstrating resources within geography.
  • Delivers effective on-label technical and scientific presentations utilizing approved data, to appropriately highlight the benefits and risks of the product resulting in sales quota.
  • Serve as lead US Commercial contact with any involved accounts in the assigned geography and collaborate with all AbbVie and any co-promotion relevant to the commercial and strategic marketing, GPO teams, Thought Leader Liaisons, MSLs, and contracted SPPs to provide excellent customer support for physicians to the benefit of their patients.
  • Build, implement, communicate and regularly update strategic and tactical business plans for targeted accounts.
  • In collaboration with commercial sales and other relevant partners, facilitate site physician/treatment team training on approved and safe use of AbbVie's products.
  • Monitor and report sales progress.
  • Provide routine communications to all internal and external (as applicable) partners.
  • Act as the key point of contact for each customer organization.
  • Respond to or direct customer to the appropriate service or point of contact for their questions or requests with appropriate action.
  • Take lead in supporting and ensuring any needed or requested support is delivered in a timely manner and to the satisfaction of the account by the best person within AbbVie or a co-promotion partner.
  • Attend and actively participate in local meetings and other healthcare professional meetings.
  • Represent AbbVie and assigned products at such events, build and enhance existing and/or new relationships.
  • Channel key information, developments or findings to internal partners/stakeholders.
  • All communication forums consist of on-label discussions.
  • Maintain and keep a full understanding of clinical, market, and payer developments related to oncology.
  • Complete all appropriate trainings and maintain adherence to all company policies and OE/Legal policies.
  • Develop and maintain useful analysis of data to identify trends, opportunities, and market insights.
  • Actively participate in assigned local market initiatives and programs that support strategic business plans within AbbVie Oncology.
  • Developing resourceful in interpreting both external and internal information, and in supporting various therapeutic strategies that align with objectives.

  • Successful pass pre-employment drug screening test.
  • Knowledge of the health care industry requirement and understanding of the challenges within.
  • Preferred: Oncology Sales experience or Oncology specific field.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree.
  • Preferred: Account management experience.
  • Preferred: Specialty pharmacy experience.
  • Preferred: Healthcare industry experience, especially working with patients or consulting healthcare companies.
  • Preferred: MBA or other advanced degree.
