What you'll do

  • Maintain client files in Agency Management System accurately and consistently; ensure proper documentation and communication according to company workflows and procedures.
  • Compose professional business correspondence via letter, email, and/or other means.
  • Perform accounting/math related functions including invoicing and premium allocation.
  • Monitor claims as outlined by agency procedures and communicate claims information to agency personnel; maintain up-to-date claims information in the system.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to the insured in coordination with claims.
  • Attend client meetings with the Advisor or Director Risk Management, when requested.
  • Assist co-workers in responding to client inquiries or processing work, when needed.
  • Manage day-to-day activities of client accounts including policy review, changes and updates, contract review for certificates processing, preparing renewal documents, marketing and negotiating insurance programs, filing surplus lines, and reviewing leases and financial statements related to the client’s insurance.
  • Respond to client inquiries via telephone and email, relay information and follow up for timely service.
  • Counsel and advise clients on coverage and exposure; recommend and place additional coverage as needed.
  • Actively seek referrals from current clients and follow up to generate new business using prospect database and automation system.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with insurance company partners and know carrier requirements and attributes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the firm, business segment and processes; escalate issues and discrepancies to appropriate leadership.

What they require

  • Previous experience in executing bonds is required.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in a Commercial Account/Client Manager role.
  • Obtain and maintain state insurance license(s) as required by State Department of Insurance where the firm functions (or be willing to obtain all required licenses within the first 90 days of employment).
  • Demonstrates effective presentation skills through both verbal and written communications.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and ability to learn other insurance company and firm software programs.
  • Ability to perform accounting/math related functions including invoicing and premium allocation.
  • Fast paced, multi-tasking environment; travel as required/needed.
