What you'll do

  • Deliver High-Quality Intake Evaluations: Lead individual telehealth intake sessions for youth ages 2–26, using evidence-based assessment practices tailored to each patient's developmental stage and unique needs.
  • Provide Ongoing Therapy: Build strong, consistent therapeutic relationships with patients over time — delivering individual evidence-based therapy and adjusting treatment plans based on ongoing assessment of patient progress.
  • Build Meaningful Connections: Spend the necessary time with patients and families to truly understand their experiences, educate them about therapeutic approaches available at Blackbird, and provide a warm, supportive entry point into care that carries through their entire journey.
  • Drive Strong Clinical Matches & Progress: Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans that ensure each patient is connected to the right treatment approach — then see it through by monitoring progress and adjusting as needed.
  • Collaborate for Integrated Care: Engage with clinicians, medical providers, and families to create coordinated treatment plans that address the whole child.
  • Participate in optional weekly clinical consultations to enhance your clinical skills.
  • Maintain Clinical Excellence: Maintain thorough intake and ongoing documentation and patient records.
  • Strive for the highest clinical and technical quality in all aspects of your work.
  • Partner with Families: Involve and advise family members and outside specialists when appropriate throughout the care journey.

  • You are passionate about transforming behavioral health for youth and committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care.
  • You are an experienced clinician using evidence-based assessment and therapeutic practices with a passion for working with children, adolescents, young adults and their families.
  • You strive for the highest clinical and technical quality in everything you do.
  • You excel at building meaningful connections with patients and families from day one and sustaining those relationships over time, taking the time to understand their needs, provide education, and create a trusting therapeutic relationship that supports long-term engagement in treatment.
  • You are skilled in conducting clinical assessments and delivering effective psychotherapy across developmental stages and neurodiverse populations, tailoring your approach to meet each patient where they are.
  • You thrive in team-based environments and love engaging with other healthcare professionals and families to ensure patients receive the right care at every stage of their journey.
  • You are open to feedback and eager to learn and grow in a supportive clinical community where best practices and professional development are prioritized.
  • You are comfortable using technology, including Google Suite, Electronic Medical Records systems and other virtual platforms to deliver seamless care.
  • You are willing to go the extra mile when working with families, with the flexibility and willingness to reschedule patients when needed.
  • Independently licensed as a LCPC, LCMFT, LCSW-C, or PsyD/PhD Virginia
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working with children and adolescent patients
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a telehealth or virtual setting
  • This remote role supports our patients' needs for afterschool, evening and weekend sessions.
