Senior Chemist (Team Leader) – HazPack | Internal Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Senior Chemist to lead the HazPack Chemist team. You'll manage the team, plan and prioritise workloads, schedule daily jobs and ensure resources are deployed effectively to deliver a safe, compliant and efficient operation. You'll oversee the reception, treatment and processing of hazardous waste, ensuring all activities meet Health, Safety and Environmental standards while driving continuous improvement across the transfer station. Your core responsibilities Lead, coach and develop the HazPack Chemist team. Plan, schedule and prioritise daily workloads and resources. Ensure safe, compliant handling and processing of hazardous waste. Manage waste flow to maximise efficiency and customer service. Drive Health, Safety and Environmental standards across the team. Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective actions. Maintain accurate documentation, housekeeping and inventory. Identify opportunities to improve operational performance. Our essential requirements HNC in Chemistry (or equivalent experience). Experience leading a team within hazardous waste or the chemical industry. Strong knowledge of hazardous waste processing and chemical safety. Desirable Hazardous Treatment & Transfer CoTC. IOSH Managing Safely. This role is open to Biffa employees only.
