What you'll do

  • Source, recruit, and onboard qualified carriers and owner-operators to support business growth.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers across Canada and the United States.
  • Negotiate transportation rates while balancing profitability, capacity, and service requirements.
  • Build and expand Charger Logistics' carrier network through proactive outreach and relationship management.
  • Ensure all carriers meet company, safety, insurance, and compliance standards.
  • Monitor carrier performance and address operational or service-related challenges.
  • Work closely with Operations, Dispatch, and Sales teams to identify capacity needs and secure carrier coverage.
  • Utilize load boards, market intelligence, and industry resources to identify new carrier opportunities.
  • Track market trends, capacity shifts, and pricing fluctuations to support procurement decisions.
  • Maintain accurate carrier records and documentation within internal systems.
  • Support carrier retention initiatives and contribute to continuous process improvement.

What they require

  • 2+ years of experience in Carrier Development, Carrier Sales, Carrier Procurement, Freight Brokerage, Logistics, or Transportation Operations.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and load boards.
  • Preferred: Experience in asset-based transportation, freight brokerage, or third-party logistics (3PL).
  • Preferred: Knowledge of TL, LTL, Reefer, Cross-Border, and Dedicated transportation services.
  • Preferred: Understanding of carrier compliance and transportation regulations.
