Position Summary Charger Logistics is seeking a highly motivated Carrier Development Representative to join our Transportation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, sourcing, onboarding, and managing carrier partnerships across North America to support our growing transportation network. This role requires strong relationship-building, negotiation, and market analysis skills to ensure consistent capacity, competitive pricing, and exceptional service delivery. Key Responsibilities: Source, recruit, and onboard qualified carriers and owner-operators to support business growth. Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers across Canada and the United States. Negotiate transportation rates while balancing profitability, capacity, and service requirements. Build and expand Charger Logistics' carrier network through proactive outreach and relationship management. Ensure all carriers meet company, safety, insurance, and compliance standards. Monitor carrier performance and address operational or service-related challenges. Work closely with Operations, Dispatch, and Sales teams to identify capacity needs and secure carrier coverage. Utilize load boards, market intelligence, and industry resources to identify new carrier opportunities. Track market trends, capacity shifts, and pricing fluctuations to support procurement decisions. Maintain accurate carrier records and documentation within internal systems. Support carrier retention initiatives and contribute to continuous process improvement. Requirements 2+ years of experience in Carrier Development, Carrier Sales, Carrier Procurement, Freight Brokerage, Logistics, or Transportation Operations. Strong negotiation and relationship management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and load boards. Preferred: Experience in asset-based transportation, freight brokerage, or third-party logistics (3PL). Knowledge of TL, LTL, Reefer, Cross-Border, and Dedicated transportation services. Understanding of carrier compliance and transportation regulations.
