What you'll do

  • Quote customers using DAT and Truckstop pricing and market intelligence tools.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while identifying opportunities to grow freight volume.
  • Win freight opportunities by providing competitive pricing and outstanding customer service.
  • Manage the complete shipment lifecycle from booking through delivery.
  • Source and secure qualified carriers to successfully cover customer freight.
  • Vet and onboard carriers using Highway to ensure compliance and carrier quality.
  • Track active shipments, proactively communicate updates, and resolve service issues as they arise.
  • Coordinate with customers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate shipment information within Alvys TMS (training provided if needed).
  • Provide exceptional customer support by proactively addressing shipment delays, exceptions, and operational challenges.
  • Negotiate rates with carriers while maintaining healthy shipment margins.
  • Ensure all shipment documentation is complete and accurately maintained.
  • Meet individual productivity, service quality, and operational performance goals.
  • Source and develop capacity by building relationships with carriers.
  • Negotiate competitive freight rates while protecting company margins.
  • Cover customer loads by matching available carriers with shipments.
  • Build and maintain a reliable carrier network.
  • Ensure carriers meet customer service and compliance requirements.
  • Communicate load details, pickup and delivery instructions, and expectations.
  • Track shipments and proactively resolve transit issues.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers and Customer Sales Representatives to secure capacity.
  • Monitor market trends and lane pricing to make informed pricing decisions.
  • Handle carrier onboarding and maintain accurate carrier records.
  • Resolve carrier issues, detention requests, accessorial charges, and service failures.
  • Maintain accurate notes and updates in the Transportation Management System (TMS).
  • Ensure on-time pickup and delivery performance.
  • Develop long-term relationships with key carrier partners.
  • Meet daily, weekly, and monthly load coverage and margin goals.

What they require

  • Previous experience in US freight brokerage, logistics, dispatch, carrier sales, freight operations, or customer operations.
  • Strong understanding of truckload transportation and freight brokerage processes.
  • Experience quoting freight using DAT and/or Truckstop is highly preferred.
  • Experience working with transportation management systems (experience with Alvys is a plus, but training will be provided).
  • Experience working with Highway or similar carrier compliance platforms is considered an advantage.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Outstanding customer service mindset.
  • Strong multitasking, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated attitude with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the team.
  • Working schedule: Mon-Fri 08:00 am - 07:00 pm EST
  • 3+ years of carrier sales experience in a freight brokerage.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Knowledge of truckload, LTL, and Intermodal transportation.
  • Experience using TMS platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to build trust and maintain strong carrier relationships.
  • Working schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST.
