Business Manager (Sales & Commercial Support)

Our client is a US medical device company. They design, develop, and sell clinical products used in hospitals and emergency medicine, and their lead product is commercially available across the United States and supported by published, peer-reviewed research. They are small, they are growing, and the leadership team is in the work every day.

You will be the person who helps them grow. You report to and work side-by-side with the VP of Sales & Marketing, and you support the wider leadership team. The seat has two halves. The first is commercial: researching hospitals, health systems, EMS organizations, and distributors, finding the people inside them who actually make decisions, and opening conversations that turn into opportunities. The second is operational: keeping the business running underneath those conversations — purchase orders, fulfillment, inventory coordination, records, and reporting.

This is deliberately not a task-taking role. Our client is looking for someone who will learn the business, contribute ideas, create opportunities, and progressively take ownership of processes as the company grows. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM US Mountain Standard Time. Mountain Standard Time in this client's state does not observe daylight saving, so that window stays exactly where it is all year — you always know what your day looks like.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Commercial

Research hospitals, health systems, EMS organizations, distributors, and other potential customers, and build target account lists from the ground up. Identify the key clinical and business decision-makers inside each target account. Run prospecting and lead generation across email, LinkedIn, phone, and other channels. Develop new sales opportunities and keep consistent, disciplined follow-up on every prospect. Communicate professionally with physicians, clinicians, department managers, hospital leadership, distributors, and other customers. Maintain CRM records: leads, opportunities, activities, and follow-up. Schedule sales meetings, product presentations, and customer follow-up. Support the company's independent sales representatives and distribution partners. Assist with marketing initiatives, including social media, email campaigns, conferences, presentations, and sales materials. Work directly with the VP of Sales & Marketing to execute sales and marketing priorities.

Business Operations

Support customer and vendor onboarding. Assist with purchase orders, order processing, fulfillment, and shipment tracking. Help coordinate inventory and manufacturing-related activities. Maintain organized company records, documents, and shared files. Support distributor and customer administrative needs. Assist with sales and operational reporting. Coordinate meetings, conferences, and other company activities. Provide general operational and project support to the leadership team. Learn and progressively take ownership of the day-to-day business processes.

Requirements

Strong written and verbal English communication. You will be on video calls and outbound phone calls with US healthcare professionals and business leaders throughout your working day. Availability Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM US Mountain Standard Time. Comfortable making outbound calls and initiating conversations with prospective customers and healthcare professionals. Strong research and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently identify contacts, information, and potential business opportunities rather than working only from a list you are handed. Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities without dropping any of them. Self-motivated and proactive, able to take direction, learn quickly, and eventually take ownership of projects independently. A reliable home-office environment that supports participating in video meetings throughout the workday.

Preferred Qualifications

B2B sales, business development, or lead generation experience. Healthcare, hospital, medical device, or other professional sales environments. CRM and lead-management systems. LinkedIn and social media. Email marketing and prospecting. Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Canva, ChatGPT, and Gemini. Zoom and other virtual communication platforms. Prior experience working with US-based companies, customers, or sales teams.

Healthcare or medical device experience is preferred but not required. Our client is willing to train the right individual who demonstrates strong sales instincts, professionalism, initiative, and a genuine desire to learn.

Equipment & Home Office

Windows-based computer preferred. Reliable high-speed internet connection. Webcam and a professional-quality headset and microphone for customer and internal video calls. Dual-monitor setup preferred for productivity. A computer capable of reliably running Microsoft 365, a CRM, Canva, Zoom and Teams, and multiple web applications at the same time.

You can hold your own in a conversation with a physician or a hospital department head — and you know the difference between sounding confident and pretending to know something you do not. You are persistent. A prospect who has not replied to three emails is a puzzle to you, not a closed door. You are precise with detail, because on the operations half of this seat a wrong figure on a purchase order becomes a real shipment to a real hospital. You keep your own records current without being chased, because you know a CRM nobody trusts is worse than no CRM at all. You are comfortable in a small, fast-moving company where the shape of the job grows every quarter. You are curious about medical devices, clinical selling, and how hospitals actually buy things. You bring ideas to the table, not just completed tasks.
