What you'll do

  • Maintain and develop a wide network of contacts and build effective relationships within the Asbestos marketplace through which you will generate opportunities for new business.
  • Proactively prospect new clients and promote SOCOTEC services to generate leads and opportunities.
  • Introduce and promote wider SOCOTEC services.
  • Support the production and delivery of quotation documentation and sales presentations.
  • Contribute to all aspects of the strategic sales process including awareness campaigns, presentations, exhibitions and sales collateral.
  • Work closely with the Operations team to identify new service stream opportunities and potential client sectors and actively target these.
  • Prepare and undertake a thorough hand-over to operational colleagues once each sale is closed and the contract awarded.
  • Work with senior technical and managerial staff to convert opportunities to orders and account manage the delivery of services.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of market trends including client and competitor activity and industry innovations.
  • Actively contribute towards the successful delivery of the Divisions business plan and targets.
  • Any other duties reasonably requested by the Employer.

What they require

  • Experience within sales, marketing, telesales, business development, or bids environments.
  • Preferred: Experience working within construction, engineering, asbestos, compliance, or related technical service sectors would be advantageous.
  • IT literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, databases, and CRM systems.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
  • Able to manage priorities effectively and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong focus on follow-up, relationship building, and delivering excellent customer engagement.
  • Highly enthusiastic with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Punctual, organised, and diligent, with strong attention to detail.
  • A-level qualified or equivalent experience.
