What you'll do

  • Take part in the discovery phase of projects with the Product Manager and Designer to define features to build.
  • Participate with other engineers to design software architecture.
  • Build, test, and release software to production.
  • Support customers using the features built by monitoring and fixing issues in production.
  • Contribute to meaningful new features or improvements in the team’s scope.
  • Improve tools and processes to help achieve better quality and/or velocity.
  • Participate in a code review specialist group to decide and improve adoption of best practices on topics such as testing, code architecture, and database migrations.
  • Look into quantitative and qualitative product feedback to sharpen the team’s roadmap.
  • Take ownership and gain responsibilities on features or projects the squad is responsible for.
  • Work on cross-team or transversal initiatives.
  • Participate in scaling the Pennylane application from 30k+ customers to millions of customers.

  • At least 4 years of experience with Ruby on Rails.
  • Balanced blend of technical, business, and product skills.
  • Empathy for users and desire to solve real issues for them.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate ideas clearly.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Team player with experience working in an agile environment.
