What you'll do

  • Teaching in an online context (synchronous and asynchronous)
  • Engaging in Aviation English curriculum development, as assigned
  • Delivery and development of quality online ESP instruction for air traffic controllers
  • ESP instruction and development could also include Aviation English for airline pilots, flight training cadets, maintenance engineers, flight attendants, or airport personnel
  • Deliver up to 20 hours per week of synchronous classes
  • Provide written and video feedback on students’ audio- and video-based submissions following established rubrics
  • Perform other teaching duties as needed
  • Develop course content for and deliver it to students via a Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Attend regular virtual meetings during normal Eastern business hours
  • Attend annual in-person meetings, generally not more than two per year
  • Occasionally provide in-person teaching at Embry-Riddle domestic and international locations

  • Candidates must have earned a Master’s Degree in Applied Linguistics or TESOL
  • Relevant English as a Second or Foreign Language teaching experience
  • Successful candidates will demonstrate an interest in learning about aviation
