What you'll do

  • Provide technical support from a remote home office
  • Take ownership of new cases via telephone, email and web
  • Act as an internal customer advocate and provide timely updates
  • Handle support cases according to SLA with high customer satisfaction
  • Contribute and maintain knowledge base articles
  • Draft and distribute technical notices
  • Prioritize urgent and important tasks
  • Keep learning as products and services evolve
  • Understand the Ubuntu development process to set expectations on fix timelines
  • Maintain communication and information exchange with the team
  • Identify opportunities to improve service
  • Participate in a regular weekend working rotation

What they require

  • Exceptional academic track record from high school and university
  • Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling alternative path
  • Preferable majors include Computer Science, MIS, Electrical Engineering, or similar
  • Track record of going above and beyond expectations
  • Experience with Linux troubleshooting, including collecting logs and stack traces and editing configuration files
  • Knowledge or basic hands-on experience in 2 or more listed technical areas
  • Ability to learn quickly, thrive on change and handle pressure in a customer-facing job
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Effective in a multicultural, multinational organization
  • Result-oriented with personal drive to meet commitments
  • Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events up to two weeks long
  • Background check required
