What you'll do

  • Act as a trusted advisor to GitLab prospects and customers on how GitLab's DevSecOps platform addresses technical requirements and business objectives across the software development lifecycle.
  • Guide organizations through digital transformation journeys from planning through monitoring.
  • Partner with Account Executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Own technical evaluations, including proof of value initiatives and workshops.
  • Shape solution architectures.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer back to Product Management.
  • Drive successful platform adoption.
  • Influence revenue growth through solution selling.
  • Build long-term, trust-based customer relationships.
  • Support and enable successful adoption of the GitLab platform by SMB EMEA customers.
  • Work collaboratively with Sales, Customer Success, Engineering, Product Management, and Marketing organizations to realize customer value.
  • Complete the Solutions Architect onboarding plan in the first 30 days.
  • Collaborate with peers within two months to gain knowledge of the GitLab platform, DevOps practices, associated technologies, and value selling approach.
  • Engage with customers onsite and remotely within three months in a technical consultancy and advisor role during the pre-sales process.
  • Provide technical assistance and solution guidance.
  • Formulate and execute a sales strategy with the sales team to exceed revenue targets through GitLab adoption.
  • Educate SMB customers on GitLab's value proposition.
  • Participate in discussions throughout customer organizations to ensure successful GitLab deployment.
  • Guide technical evaluations via POC/POV ownership, RFP/audit support, and workshop design.
  • Build relationships within customer environments to enable GitLab advocates.
  • Serve as the customer advocate to GitLab teams including Product Development, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Continuously improve professional skills through training, reading, and mentorship.
  • Maintain specialty competency in one or more technologies related to GitLab's market focus through training, certification, and creation of working examples for internal reuse and for customers and partners.

What they require

  • 1-2+ years of experience engaging with customers in pre-sales, consulting, or similar roles, guiding them through solution design and evaluation.
  • Experience or eagerness to understand the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including modern DevSecOps practices and continuous integration and continuous deployment workflows.
  • Practical knowledge of cloud computing concepts and related technologies, with the ability to discuss deployment, security, and operations options with technical teams.
  • Ability to lead technical evaluations such as proofs of concept or proofs of value, contribute to tenders or audits, and design and run workshops or value stream assessments.
  • Clear technical communication and presentation skills, with the ability to adapt messages for practitioners through to senior business and technical decision makers.
  • Skill in building trusted relationships, listening with empathy, and acting as a customer advocate to internal teams such as Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Motivation to continuously develop professionally, including learning new technologies, deepening GitLab platform expertise, and applying transferable experience from related fields.
  • Preferred: German or French language fluency.
