Must be a professing Christian who signs Young Life Statement of Faith and able to fundraise (up to 70% of base). Remote in Oregon (serves region), college degree preferred.

What you'll do

  • Represent the regional office in carrying out the regional function to ensure good Young Life ministry in that region
  • Develop a yearly personal growth plan and foster spiritual disciplines; lead teams and individuals in spiritual development
  • Assist regional director in casting vision and developing diverse leadership and ministries
  • Recruit, interview, hire, supervise, develop and evaluate staff within the region; facilitate departures when necessary
  • Develop and implement regional trainings and conduct assignments/events (leadership weekends, recruiting days, staff development, leader training)
  • Help areas develop committees and communicate with committee and TDS chairs
  • Help develop and lead the region’s fundraising strategy and raise necessary funds (expected to raise a portion of personal budget)
  • Coordinate and conduct quality events reflecting Young Life’s capacity to impact kids
  • Assist in development of new areas and identify interested adults; visit areas as needed including routine and crisis visits
  • Observe and evaluate local areas to ensure ministry excellence and support regional growth plans including multi-cultural ministries
  • Maintain ministry contact with kids as needed
  • Provide networking opportunities for additional camping and discipleship experiences
  • Maintain professionalism in office hours, dress, conduct, and time management
  • Develop reporting, expense report responsibilities and use of regional funds via Young Life accounting applications
  • Set and review yearly strategic ministry plans and implement/support regional initiatives

  • Proven spiritual leader
  • Proven leadership in developing diverse staff and ministries
  • Proven relational skills with both kids and adults
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Has the potential and capacity to function as a regional director
  • College degree preferred
  • Required to sign Young Life Statement of Faith and profess belief in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord
