What you'll do

  • Gathering news and identifying relevant official documents regarding events and developments in the assigned practice areas
  • Selecting which developments to report
  • Digesting and providing explanation on court opinions and other litigation-related documents following guidance provided by manager
  • Writing news articles for daily upload to website and inclusion in print publications
  • Meeting all deadlines while producing publications in a timely manner
  • Reviewing all available analytics of web-based usage of content to help drive content focus

What they require

  • Possess hard news reporting experience and excellent news judgment
  • Have a Bachelor's degree in journalism/communications (relevant experience considered without a degree)
  • Have the ability to multitask and reprioritize throughout the day
  • Have the ability to understand and explain complex legal topics
  • Be a skilled and speedy news writer
  • Have the ability to network with attorney sources, use online and other resources to gather information
  • Possess excellent interviewing skills
  • Be able to work Eastern time zone hours
  • Have the ability to work independently
