Associate, Finance and Strategy

About the role Grüns is scaling fast, and looking to bring on the next Associate, Finance and Strategy team member. This role owns the operating cadence that keeps the business honest: monthly business reviews, variance analysis, budgeting, and the models leadership and investors actually trust. You'll work directly with our Head of Finance to take ownership of core financial infrastructure, freeing up senior bandwidth for the bigger strategic bets. If you want real ownership over the numbers that drive decisions (not just a seat building someone else's slides) this is that role. This role is part of our remote HQ! We have a fully remote, high-trust work environment, and we come together on a bi-annual basis for offsites where we connect IRL. We're looking for someone based in Pacific or Central time zones. In this role, you will: Own the Monthly Business Review and OKR process end to end, from model roll-forward to the room Build and maintain financial models that support forecasting, budgeting, and ad hoc strategic decisions Drive variance analysis on Opex and hold the business accountable to it Lead and execute cross-functional initiatives that move the needle on profitability Identify and refine the KPIs that tell us how the business is actually doing Build core materials that are easy to update, so reporting gets faster over time, not slower We're looking for someone who: Has 2-4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting, or corporate finance Demonstrates strong financial modeling and data analysis capabilities Excels at creating clear, compelling presentations for diverse audiences Is fluent in Excel and PowerPoint, and comfortable using AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT as part of daily work Possesses SQL knowledge with R and/or Python experience (preferred) Takes ownership of projects and drives them to completion Challenges conventions and pushes boundaries to find innovative solutions Shows enthusiasm for learning and professional development Demonstrates agility in problem-solving and prioritization Communicates concisely and effectively with various stakeholders Exhibits strong attention to detail while maintaining a strategic perspective Approach to the role: Takes ownership without being asked twice Pushes on the status quo instead of accepting "that's how it's done" Stays curious and wants to keep learning Cuts through ambiguity instead of waiting for perfect information Has sharp judgment on what actually matters right now Communicates with precision. No rambling, no burying the point Compensation & Benefits: At Grüns, we're committed to providing a competitive total compensation package — grounded in market data that considers our size, stage, industry, and location. For this role, the base salary range is $115,000-$130,000 plus bonus depending on experience, paired with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being and growth of our team.
