What you'll do

  • Supports clinical data review and case preparation under supervision to ensure accurate interpretation of genetic findings.
  • Learns to apply guided workflows for phenotype-genotype correlation and review of clinical features using standardized resources.
  • Assists with variant classification by gathering evidence and performing preliminary literature searches.
  • Prepares documentation and updates internal databases; assists with report editing and routine administrative tasks.
  • Participates in team discussions and training sessions to build competency in clinical analysis and case management.
  • Engages in continuing education and professional development activities.
  • Consistently meets or exceeds performance benchmarks.
  • May abstract clinical information from patient records.
  • Meets or exceeds productivity and error standards as assigned by team lead.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the team or department.

What they require

  • Master’s degree from an accredited genetic counseling program; alternatively, a Master’s or PhD in Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, or a related field with relevant clinical experience, or an MD/DO with demonstrated expertise in human genetics.
  • Proven ability to work independently and cross-functionally, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and high proficiency in internal systems and Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • Demonstrated professional-level proficiency in mathematical reasoning, computer literacy, and language-based communication.
  • Preferred: Prior clinical or laboratory experience preferred but not required.
  • Preferred: Prior experience with variant curation is preferred but not required.
  • Preferred: Foundational knowledge about Clinical Analysis is preferred but not required.
  • For Genetic Counselors: Board-eligible status or active certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling.
  • Licensure is required in the state where the employee works, if applicable; additional state licenses may be requested based on organizational needs.
  • This is a fully remote position.
  • The employee will work from a home office or other suitable remote location with reliable high-speed internet access.
  • Your standard work schedule and hours will be established in collaboration with your leader and may be adjusted to align with evolving business needs.
  • Shift: Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday 9am-5pm ET
