What you'll do

  • Develop and implement sales and market strategies across assigned Eastern European markets.
  • Identify, acquire, and develop new water utility customers and strategic key accounts.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle, including customer acquisition, tenders, negotiations, contract awards, and project handover.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with utilities, distributors, system integrators, and other strategic partners.
  • Prepare competitive technical and commercial solutions in close collaboration with internal departments.
  • Coordinate pilot projects, field trials, product approvals, and technical clarifications with customers.
  • Maintain accurate CRM data, sales forecasts, and market intelligence while monitoring competitors and industry developments.
  • Represent Engelmann at customer meetings, trade fairs, and industry events, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

What they require

  • Minimum 5 years of successful B2B sales or business development experience in water utilities, smart metering, AMR/AMI, metering, or a comparable technical industry.
  • Proven success in developing new business and managing complex sales processes with municipal or private utilities.
  • Experience with public tenders, technical specifications, and utility procurement processes.
  • Strong commercial, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Degree in Engineering, Environmental Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Good understanding of water utility operations and smart metering technologies.
  • Fluent business English; proficiency in an Eastern European language is a must.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the assigned region.
  • Self-driven, entrepreneurial personality with excellent communication skills, intercultural awareness, and a structured, results-oriented approach.
