Archaeologist PI/Field Director to lead cultural resources field crews across Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. Needs experience with Section 106/110 NHPA cultural resource investigations, report writing, regulatory interpretation, and coordinating with clients, agencies, and Tribal representatives.

What you'll do

  • Lead cultural resources field crews and assist in the expansion of archaeology services
  • Lead and conduct all phases of cultural resource investigations under Section 106 and 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and other environmental planning projects
  • Conduct consultation
  • Prepare data recovery and monitoring plans
  • Lead field coordination
  • Interpret state and federal laws
  • Write reports
  • Write sections related to cultural resources for proposed permitting actions when required
  • Supervise and mentor junior or temporary level cultural resource personnel
  • Interact and coordinate with clients as well as agency and Tribal representatives

What they require

  • Knowledge of and experience with Section 106 and 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA)
  • Knowledge of and experience with federal, state, and local historic preservation and cultural resources regulations
  • Demonstrated established area of analytical expertise and/or archaeological research interest
  • May require knowledge of and experience with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and writing sections related to cultural resources for proposed permitting actions
