No BS summary

Alliances/consultant-relations manager for US remote digital health, with 5–10+ years in benefits consulting or alliances at a digital health company. Must know benefits consulting firms deeply and be willing to travel 50% on average, up to 75% seasonally.

What you'll do

  • Build and deepen relationships at priority consulting houses, becoming WellTheory's primary point of contact for benefit consultants and their account teams.
  • Develop the consulting house engagement strategy, including which firms and practices to prioritize, how to engage, and what content to bring.
  • Present WellTheory's model and outcomes data to consultants and practice leads.
  • Represent WellTheory at industry events where consultants gather.
  • Partner with Marketing to create consultant-facing materials distinct from the employer-facing story.
  • Keep the sales team and consultants connected with current, accurate information about WellTheory when relevant for clients.
  • Bring consultant feedback back to the team on positioning, market direction, and how WellTheory can be a better partner to the consulting community.
  • Create the playbook as much as execute it while helping shape what great looks like as the company grows.
  • Keep the CRM up to date, document deal progress clearly, and share written context so others can plug in without needing a meeting.

What they require

  • 5–10+ years of experience either working at a consulting house such as Mercer, Aon, WTW, Gallagher, or comparable, or leading alliances or consultant relations at a digital health company.
  • Deep knowledge of the benefits consulting world, including how firms differ, how practices are structured, and how they work with employer clients.
  • Experience building a category, not just selling in one.
  • Comfort educating the market, introducing new models of care, creating urgency, and helping decision-makers see problems and possibilities in a new light.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills and comfort being in front of an audience.
  • Ability to craft effective written communication such as emails and proposals.
  • Comfort with others editing important external communications.
  • Roll-up-your-sleeves mentality and willingness to handle unglamorous or complex work.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
  • Consultative approach to partnerships, including asking thoughtful questions, uncovering needs, and guiding partners toward new perspectives.
  • Ability to read the room, meet partners where they are, and know when to push and when not to.
  • Creative and agile approach to sales and consultant engagement.
  • Organized and diligent, able to coordinate events, run lunch-and-learns, and follow up without letting things slip.
  • Comfort juggling multiple tasks while staying focused on priorities.
  • Comfort being self-directed about where trust-building time goes.
  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time on average, with certain times of year reaching 75%.
  • Comfort building relationships in person over coffee, at conferences, and in consultant offices.
  • Comfort working without a mature sales engine, large sales ops team, polished enablement library, or steady inbound funnel.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and taking initiative without a roadmap.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and willing to make judgment calls rather than waiting for permission.
  • Excitement about working for a company that values documentation and process.
  • Ability to work in a fully remote team where written communication through memos, pre-reads, and detailed meeting notes is central.
  • Empathy for the autoimmune experience and ability to convey that to potential partners.

  • Openness about mistakes and open-mindedness toward new problem-solving approaches.
