What you'll do

  • Drive the development and implementation of AI legal and compliance frameworks, including policies for model development, deployment, and monitoring that align with emerging AI regulations and industry standards.
  • Participate in cross-functional reviews of AI project initiatives to identify legal risks and opportunities, ensuring compliance with regulations while enabling innovation.
  • Develop and maintain AI governance documentation, including model cards, algorithmic impact assessments, training data compliance records, and legal risk assessments.
  • Partner with engineering teams to implement legally compliant AI development practices, including requirements for transparency, fairness, and accountability.
  • Create and maintain processes for AI incident response, model monitoring, and legal compliance validation.
  • Build scalable processes for AI legal reviews across various stakeholders.

What they require

  • 5+ years of directly related experience in technical program management, with at least 2 years focused on AI/ML initiatives in a technology-driven environment.
  • Strong understanding of emerging AI regulations (EU AI Act, state AI laws, etc.) and their practical implementation.
  • Experience developing legal frameworks for AI governance and responsible AI development.
  • Track record of partnering with technical teams to implement legal requirements in AI systems.
  • Understanding of IP considerations in AI development, including training data rights, model ownership, and output licensing.
  • Experience with AI risk assessment methodologies and mitigation strategies.
  • Strong project management skills with experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Preferred: Experience with large language models (LLMs) and generative AI legal considerations
  • Preferred: Background in open source software licensing and AI model licensing
  • Preferred: Familiarity with AI ethics frameworks and algorithmic fairness principles
  • Preferred: Experience with AI procurement and vendor assessment
  • Preferred: Knowledge of global AI regulatory developments and policy trends
  • Preferred: Background in privacy law and data protection regulations
  • Preferred: Technical background or demonstrated ability to understand AI/ML concept
