Part-time Adjunct Faculty needed for online Human Services courses. Requires an advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Human Services or a related field, and prior online teaching experience. Must be committed to empowering adult learners in a person-centered teaching model.

What you'll do

  • Engage in your classroom at least 4 days per week
  • Facilitate discussion board conversations
  • Assess student work with caring, timely feedback
  • Be available via video or phone when needed
  • Create a supportive virtual classroom where students feel safe
  • Potentially collaborate on developing course content (Occasionally)
  • Serve on committees (Occasionally)
  • Support college needs or course maintenance (Occasionally)
  • Collaborate with colleagues on faculty-lead and leadership directed projects (Occasionally)

What they require

  • PhD Earned doctorate in the field of study or closely related field. Required
  • Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate that they can be effective within a person-centered teaching model that strengthens a community of care.
  • 3+ years Teaching experience and/or a capacity and willingness to instruct within Walden’s Person-Centered and Community of Care approach to fostering human potential through teaching. Required
  • Experience supporting doctoral research committees and/or a capacity and willingness to mentor and support a diverse population of doctoral students. [FOR DOCTORAL MENTORING] Required
  • Experience with distance learning Preferred
  • A cover letter that provides insights about the candidate’s philosophy and effectiveness in teaching, with a focus on the ability to work with students from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds.

  • Masters Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Healthcare Administration or a related field Required.
