About the Role

At Pavago, one of our clients is hiring an experienced Accounting Manager to own financial reporting, month-end close, payroll, compliance, and core accounting operations across complex client accounts.

This is not a bookkeeping or data-entry role .

You’ll take hands-on ownership of:

Month-end close GAAP financial reporting Accrual accounting Payroll AP & AR General Ledger and reconciliations U.S. sales tax Multi-entity accounting Financial reporting and analysis

This role is ideal for someone who understands accounting deeply, thrives in structured environments, and takes pride in keeping financial operations accurate, compliant, and organized.

What You’ll Own

Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

Own accurate and timely month-end close processes Prepare and maintain:

P&L statements Balance sheets Cash flow reports Supporting schedules

Prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations Ensure financial reporting aligns with GAAP standards Maintain clean, structured, and audit-ready workpapers Meet client and internal reporting deadlines consistently

Core Accounting Operations

Oversee:

Accounts Payable (AP) Accounts Receivable (AR) General Ledger Account reconciliations Day-to-day accounting activity

You’ll also:

Maintain accurate books across multiple entities, locations, or business segments Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies Ensure accounting systems remain clean and organized Maintain strong financial controls and documentation

Payroll & Employee Setup

Process payroll using platforms such as:

Gusto Paylocity ADP

Responsibilities include:

Employee setup and onboarding within payroll systems Payroll processing and validation Adjustments and deductions Reimbursements Payroll reporting Documentation and compliance

U.S. Sales Tax & Compliance

Calculate and file U.S. state sales tax Track filing deadlines and requirements Maintain organized compliance documentation Ensure adherence to accounting policies and financial procedures Support audits and compliance requests as needed

Financial Reporting, Analysis & Forecasting

Build custom financial reports and dashboards Support budgeting and forecasting Perform variance analysis Provide financial insights to leadership Use Excel and reporting tools to improve financial visibility Help translate accounting data into useful business information

Process Improvement & Documentation

Review accounting workflows and identify inefficiencies Standardize processes across clients and systems Improve workflows through:

Automation Templates Documentation

Build and maintain accounting SOPs Improve scalability without sacrificing financial accuracy

Client & Leadership Coordination

Communicate regularly with leadership regarding priorities and deliverables Maintain visibility around reporting timelines Support client-facing accounting communication when required Coordinate across accounting, payroll, finance, and operational workflows Proactively flag issues before they become larger problems

Requirements – Must Have

Experience

5+ years of accounting or finance experience Strong hands-on experience with:

Accrual accounting GAAP financial reporting Month-end close

Experience managing accounting across:

Multiple entities Multiple locations Multiple business segments

QuickBooks

Proficiency with one or more of:

QuickBooks Online QuickBooks Desktop QuickBooks Enterprise

Advanced Excel

Strong proficiency with:

XLOOKUP INDEX/MATCH Pivot Tables Data Tables Financial reporting and analysis

Payroll & Compliance

Experience processing payroll through Gusto or similar platforms Experience handling U.S. sales tax filings Strong understanding of accounting controls and financial documentation

Communication & Execution

Strong written and verbal English Excellent attention to detail Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Ability to work independently in a remote environment High level of ownership and accountability

Nice to Have

Experience with:

NetSuite Paylocity ADP Ramp Bill.com Clockify

Also valuable:
