Accounting Manager – GAAP, QuickBooks, Payroll & Month-End Close | Remote Position Type: Full-Time, Remote Working Hours: U.S. Business Hours About the Role At Pavago, one of our clients is hiring an Accounting Manager to own month-end close, financial reporting, payroll, compliance, and core accounting operations across complex, multi-entity environments. This is a hands-on role for an experienced accounting professional who understands accrual accounting and GAAP , thrives on accuracy, and can confidently manage financial workflows with minimal oversight. What You’ll Own Month-End Close & Financial Reporting Execute accurate and timely month-end close Prepare financial statements and management reports Maintain clean, structured, audit-ready workpapers Ensure financial reporting follows GAAP Identify and resolve discrepancies proactively Core Accounting Operations Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Maintain general ledger accuracy across multiple entities Manage reconciliations and day-to-day accounting activities Ensure accounting records remain complete, accurate, and organized Payroll & Employee Setup Process payroll using Gusto, ADP, Paylocity , or similar platforms Manage employee setup and onboarding within payroll systems Maintain accurate payroll documentation Support compliance with U.S. payroll requirements Sales Tax & Compliance Calculate and file U.S. state sales tax Maintain supporting documentation for tax filings Ensure reporting and compliance deadlines are met Reporting, Analysis & Forecasting Build and maintain custom financial reports Support budgeting and forecasting Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights Provide reliable financial data to support leadership decisions Process Improvement Review and document accounting workflows Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements Standardize processes across clients, entities, and systems Help build scalable and reliable accounting operations Requirements 5+ years of accounting or finance experience Strong hands-on experience with accrual accounting / GAAP financials Experience managing multi-entity or multi-location accounting Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Desktop, and/or Enterprise Advanced Excel skills, including: XLOOKUP INDEX/MATCH Pivot Tables Data analysis Experience processing payroll using Gusto or similar platforms Experience with U.S. sales tax filings Strong general ledger and financial reporting knowledge Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong written and verbal English communication Comfortable working remotely during U.S. business hours Nice to Have NetSuite experience Familiarity with ADP or Paylocity Experience with Ramp or Bill.com Familiarity with Clockify or similar time-tracking tools Background in outsourced accounting or multi-client environments Tools & Tech QuickBooks | Gusto | ADP | Paylocity | Excel | Google Sheets | NetSuite | Ramp | Bill.com What Success Looks Like Accurate and timely month-end closes Clean, error-free financial reporting Organized accounting records across entities Accurate and compliant payroll processing On-time sales tax filings Reliable financial data with minimal rework Strong leadership confidence in accounting accuracy Interview Process Initial Screening Call Spark Hire Video Interview Recruiter Interview Final Interview Offer & Onboarding Apply Now If you’re an experienced Accounting Manager with strong GAAP, QuickBooks, payroll, month-end close, and multi-entity accounting experience , we’d love to hear from you. #AccountingManager #GAAP #QuickBooks #MonthEndClose #Payroll #MultiEntityAccounting #FinancialReporting #AccountingJobs #RemoteAccounting #RemoteJobs
